In summer 1924 a series of workshops were arranged in the Palace «to provide deeper knowledge about Gatchina» and to educate professional guides. Students were allowed to put on authentic dresses of 18-19th centuries and walk along the Palace halls. The girls in the photo are wearing gowns of Empress Maria Feodorovna (the wife of Paul I) and her daughter Grand Duchess Catherine Pavlovna.
