The information provided by the research made it possible to recognise the pigment palette used by Chelmoński and gave an insight into how these pigments were combined. As a result, we know that the colour of the sky is mainly based on a mixture of lead white with ultramarine, bone black and iron red, used in different proportions in each shade.
