A family celebrates Sukkot, the Feast of Tabernacles, commemorating the dwellings of the Israelites during their wanderings in the desert. The sukkah, or booth, is usually decorated with fruit and foliage appropriate for the autumn harvest.
While father presides, raising his wine glass for the blessing, his wife and beautiful daughter gaze adoringly at the baby. Outside the sukkah, an attractive maid carries a tureen of steaming soup that amusingly catches the cat's attention. Two Christian schoolboys watch the celebration with ardent curiosity.
