Summary of the history of OFIDAS (Israeli Feminine Organization for Social Service) – from 1915 to 1975

Ofidas - Israeli Women's Social Assistance Organization - was founded in 1940 as a result of three existing entities: Sociedade Beneficente da Damas Israelitas, Gota de Leite (from B´nai Brith) and Lar da Criança Israelita. The main objective of Ofidas was to prioritize the needs of women and children.
In 1976, Ofidas joins Ezra and Linath Hatzedek, forming UNIBES.
