The Sun series

The Sun series originated from Hsiao Chin's introspective spiritual practice in the early 1960s, studying the religions such as Tibetan Tantra School and Indian Tancheng School. The artist was deeply inspired to create a series of works using the sun, the source of energy for all living beings. In his paintings, there are more bright colors and symmetrical compositions, most of which are centered on circular elements or receded into a corner. With radioactive patterns or lines, they form a picture full of explosive force like the sun, symbolizing the kinetic energy and magnetic field formed by strong spiritual energy in the ancient universe. Hsiao Chin clearly shows his exploration of the mysteries of the universe, as well as the pursuit of life energy.
