Sutthaisawan Pavilion was the High Pavilion of the Grand Palace of the Early Rattanokosin Era, but during the reign of King Rama III, the structure was re-modeled into a "prasat-style" and changed the name from the High Pavilion to Sutthaisawan Pavilion. With the elevation of King Mongkut's brother to the level of a Second Kind, several structures like the High Pavilion were constructed to echo the Sutthaisawan Pavilion in both architecture and function
