Tabakobon (tobacco tray)

A tobacco tray studded with morning glories. Some flowers are adorned with mother-of-pearl and gold. The buds, leaves and vines are vividly depicted in various maki-e techniques. The morning glories can be seen also in the fasteners of the handle as well as the drawer knobs.
