This humorous object was also used as tobacco pouch. It is possible to put the hosokizami (Japanese fine-cut tobacco) into the body part of the man by removing his face. Netsuke (miniature carving attached to the end of a cord) has the shape of a straw rice bag, and there is a mouse sticking his head out of it.
