Table lamp "Loïe Fuller"

The development of modern dance began at the beginning of the 20th century in contrast to the classical ballet. One of the first dance stars was the American dancer Loïe Fuller.

Raoul Larche shows her in his sculpture dancing one of her famous veil dances: Expressively she swirls the panels of fabric around her body. At the same time, a strong wind seems to press the thin veil against her, so that her slight, graceful figure stands out clearly. Loïe Fuller danced without a corset and thus also stood for the growing emancipation of women.

Raoul Larche designed this metal sculpture as an electric light - the bulbholder is hidden in the robe.
