The birthplace of Takinomiya Ryutoin (Udon noodles) that is said to be a predecessor of the Takinomiyatenmangu, where Kukai’s nephew (one of Kukai’s ten great disciples) became the first chief priest of Chisendaitoku, and Kukai taught Udon noodle making to Chisen that Kukai went and studied in Tang Dynasty China as an envoy. This is the reason that it is said to be the birthplace of “Udon noodles” that Chisen lived in Takinomiya as a government official and had a sick father (Sugawara: Michizane's clan) and mother (Saeki: Kukai’s elder sister) to eat.
