Petey Greene: Sharing the Pain
Talk show host and community activist Petey Greene (shown here in 1974) is remembered as a voice of comfort. Sharing the anger and despair that many felt over Dr. King’s death, Greene broadcast for hours over D.C.’s R&B station, WOL 1450 AM, providing a more peaceful outlet for locals to express their grief.
