Liquid nitrogen is used to freeze and conserve samples. Once collected and sorted, different types of samples are stored in refrigerators and freezers located in the schooner's forward hold. Part of the collected water is filtered on deck using nets with different mesh sizes, before being processed again inside the wet laboratory.
