Tarangambadi: A Traditional House

A traditional South Indian house with concave tiled-roof within the fortified town of Tarangampadi. The traditional houses of Tamil Nadu has a open verandah and a thinnai (raised Platform, by the side of the main passage) under the roof. This space functioned as a meeting space for the visitors and strangers were allowed, with the permission of the house owners,to rest during the day or night.
