Viewing Notes: The use of overall flowers and scroll repousse decoration was popular with middle-class English and American consumers starting in the 1820s. The style became associated with Baltimore, especially through the wordk of Samuel Kirk and his successors. Kirk initiated the style in this country for domestic wares, and variants of it are still produced today.

Markings: Stamped on underside of base with two rectangular punches, first rectangular punch "S.K.", second rectangular punch "11/2". Mark in use from 1830-1846.
