Teeth in Mount

National Museums Liverpool

National Museums Liverpool
United Kingdom

Dental prosthesis, gold mount with two artificial teeth. A rivet is at each side of each false tooth; the front rivets remain visible inside the hollow tooth.
The prosthesis is likely to be aesthetic; presumably the living teeth to which it was anchored had sound roots (C. Reed, October 2011). See the Journal of the British Dental Association, May and September 1885.
