This telegram from the Secretary of War informed President Harry S. Truman of the rapid progress regarding the readiness for the use of the atomic bomb against Japan. President Truman and his military advisors had already determined to use the bomb; this telegram regards the preparations for the eventual press release about the use of the atomic bomb.
