Wild child Stephen Sprouse (1953-2004) got his start in fashion creating clothing for his Lower East Side neighbor Debbie Harry (b. 1945), lead singer of the punk group Blondie. This iconoclastic ensemble includes printed parodies of famous band names like “The Cramps” and “Black Flag”—certain letters were left off or scrambled, but the fonts are identical to the groups’ famous logos.
