Bodice of Thai silk with sequin, bead, and metal-thread embroidery by House of Lesage, Paris; attached skirt of silk and metal-thread brocade (phaa yok).
The “heads of rice” motif (phum khao bin), contained within an elaborate latticework pattern makes up the decorative design on this brocade. Developed during the Ayutthaya period (1351-1767) phum khao bin is one of the most popular motifs in Thai art.
