Franco Maria Ricci's art collecting has always been linked to the topics of his books and followed his personal taste. This was the case for Ligabue, Erté, Wildt: in many occasions the purchase of a work of art has paved the way for rediscoverings of unexplored topics and artists. “A true collector,” says Ricci, “must be a precursor of taste. One must buy the works that others refuse. It's not just about making a good deal, it's about finding beauty, recognizing it before the others."
