The Australasian Supplement. Letter to the Editor. Page 6
First documented record of blind cricket being played, letter written by I.WARREN BALL. Requesting a 'kind invention' for a ball which would not injure the players - as the one they had made was a tin can beaten into the shape of an oval, with rocks inside. Subsequently, a cane wicker ball was devised, and blind cricket thrived in Victoria, with first interstate game held between Victoria and South Australia in 1926. Today Blind Cricket is an international sport.
