The Baglione Room

Rocca Meli Lupi di Soragna

Rocca Meli Lupi di Soragna
Soragna, Italy

The room is wholly decorated by frescoes in grotesque style, realized by the Italian painter Cesare Baglione in 1580. The main theme is water and is inspired from the Grotesque painted by Raffaello in the Vatican Logge. This room was commissioned by Isabella Pallavicino, Giampaolo II's wife, together with her father-in-law Diofebo II, the Cassandra Marinoni's husband. Cassandra Marinoni is said to be the ghost of the Castle.
