The two central frescoes representing the map of the Duchy and the Victory of Lepanto celebrate Farnese's presence in Parma. In this representation, both the Christian and the Ottoman arrays are faithfully represented. This reconstruction's sources must have been the chronicle written by Contarini. One can easily notice, among many personages, Alessandro Farnese, Duke Ottavio's son. The young Farnese in the foreground is described as a mighty commander (the stick and the sword) and as a generous man (he spares his enemies' life).
