The begining of The OANTon

The National Astrophysical Observatory of Tonantzintla was inaugurated in 1942. The image shows the telescope with its original mounting. The Observatory was equipped with one of the largest and most powerful astronomical instruments of its time, a Schmidt Camera built in the workshops of the Harvard University.
