The Boucher Room

Pittsburgh, United States

The Boucher Room as depicted by Gay is Adelaide Frick’s boudoir, decorated by Elsie de Wolfe and fitted with the eight Arts and Sciences panels by François Boucher (French, 1703–1770). Gay’s view eliminates much of the furniture in the back right corner of the room, but interestingly he has retained the framed photograph of Henry Clay Frick on the mantel amid the Sévres porcelain potpourris.
