This plate depicts berry bearing chickweed (Cucubalus baccifer), two leaved Mitella (Mitella diphylla), caltrops (Tribulus). common wild rue (Peganum), marsh cistus (?), Nigellas, balsam (Impatiens), purslane (Portulaca), Corchorus, and Saracena (Sarraceniaceae), also known as pitcher plants. Pitcher plants are carnivorous. The "pitchers" are leaves that grow in a cup shape which is filled with water and enzymes to digest insects for extra nutrients.
