The Catalog of Eccentricity Series - Part 78 is a work by the Japanese artist Keiichi Tanaami (Tokyo, Japan, 1936), considered the father of Japanese Pop Art. Tanaami lived through the American bombing of Tokyo in World War II as a child, and these childhood memories have had a great impact on his work. Other influences come from American B movies, with their exciting mix of monsters and glamorous female stars, and from the serious illness he suffered in the 1980s. In his latest works, he incorporates more current materials, such as glitter, into his psychedelic paintings to represent his dreams, memories and hallucinations.
