The elaborate decorative plaster ceiling in the ornagery of the Temple of Diana. James Paine designed the ceiling to have an oval roundel and for the room itself to have an elliptical inner wall. The form of the ceiling, with its deeply coved edge, gives the illusion that the room is, in fact, of oval form.
