This beautiful circular room originally looked out over a series of netted menagerie enclosures that contained exotically plumed birds, providing an elegant room in which the Bridgemans and their friends could drink tea. The walls have inset paintings by Giovanni Battista Innocenzo Colombo, a Swiss painter of theatre scenery, depicting the life of the Roman goddess of hunting, Diana, to whom the Temple is dedicated. The Temple has recently been sensitively restored and redecorated by Janie Money of Sibyl Colefax and Fowler and is now available as a holiday let.
