The Cuckoo

The Cuckoo (杜鹃图) is a teaching example by Zhu Yingren. The title of the painting reads, “It is not difficult to draw a picture, but it is hard to create a concept…the image comes from its property, which requests our caution. ” The painting is fresh and elegant, showing artist’s excellence in controlling the water. It also contains the artistic concept of Xu Wei’s ink painting.
