The Illustrated London News was the world's first illustrated weekly newspaper. The first issue was on Saturday, May 14, 1842, and was published weekly until 1971, less and less frequently, until it disappeared in 2003.
Cocoa production in Grenada began in the mid-18th century, and despite being smaller than that of the neighboring islands of Trinidad, St. Lucia and Jamaica, it was an important source of the product for Britain. Subsequently it declined markedly, because of slave rebellions and hurricanes. In 1860, free slaves began to cultivate cocoa again in small plots, increasing production fourteen times between 1831 and 1886.
Currently, cocoa production forms 40% of income from the island's agricultural exports, mostly of the Trinitarian type and a bit of forastero.
