The Day

In the left panel of the ceiling of the Room of Night and Day, Michelangelo the Younger wanted that Vignali paint a fresco representing the Day. The painter, in an octagonal shape, carried out the allegory of the Day showing, surrounded by the shining light emanating from the sun, the Michelangelo’s figure of the Day puts on the sarchophagus of the tomb of Giuliano de’ Medici in the New Sacristy of San Lorenzo.
