The Dialog

"When I immersed in a graffiti world with its heroes, its culture, its way of life and language, my life became full of various interesting situations, moments and, first and foremost, people. That communication gave me new knowledge and understanding the world around. Of course, painting process itself brings satisfaction, but the most rewarding part of it is a dialogue... The dialogue with environment, with people who are in the right place at the right time. The same thing was with the painting in Khanty-Mansiysk. I had a foundation which I built on – my painting on canvas – and it fitted well on the surface offered to me.

When I got there, I filly realized it. As in any modern city, I was surrounded by advertising, various constructions, navigation and, of course, graffiti. There wasn’t much of street art, but almost every city I’ve been to more or less had it and I reflected it in my own way. Having got into the spirit of the place, I got down to implement what (as I expected) would cause a reaction and a dialogue. In general, the reaction was positive – the ordinary surface became a bright accent. Through the process and the result there was an exchange between me and the city." Anton Stork / Rayons/
