Hopkins House was built in 1975-6. It was designed by the architects Michael and Patty Hopkins as a private house and office for themselves. Built using a lightweight steel frame and clad in glass and corrugated steel sheeting, it was designed to be energy efficient in the context of the energy crisis that was happening at the time.
