The Dormition of Mary

The scene of the Dormition of the Virgin is represented on his deathbed. Traditionally, Christ receives His mother’s soul in His arms depicted as a little girl haloed and wrapped like a newborn. In this painting the Holy Trinity at the top of the image, and the group of apostles and archangels, surround the Virgin.
