In this production of The Dreamers by Lennox Robinson, Helena Molony is cast as Mrs. Palmer along with fellow Easter Rising rebels Arthur Shields, Sean Connolly and Peadar Kearney. A staunch nationalist, Helena was a member of Inghinidhe na hEireann, editor of Béan na hÉireann, founding member of Na Fianna, labour activist and member of the Irish Citizen Army. She spent several nights before the Easter Rising in Dublin's Liberty Hall, sleeping on piles of coats. The night before the Rising she used copies of the Proclamation of the Irish Republic as a pillow.
