This cup, involving local sides across the central belt, was first played for in 1896/97. The most successful team in the competition's history was Dunipace, who won it 13 times. Founded in 1888 in Denny, Stirlingshire, the Pace and still going strong today and in 2018 announced their decision to leave junior football and join the East of Scotland League and Football League pyramid.
