The Float of Saint Rosalie of 1835

The work was painted in the first half of the 19th century and shows a view of the gulf of Palermo with the outline of Mount ‘Pellegrino’ in the background. Central in the composition is the majestic float set in the foreground, which was made in 1835 for the yearly celebrations on July 14th organised to honour the city’s patron saint, Saint Rosalia.
