According to IPCC, the desertification phenomenon brought by climate change in the recent years has already reduced extensively agricultural productivity in some regions of the world, including Italy. FAO estimates that in the next 20/30 years the world will need 50% more food, 45% more energy and 30% more water to sustain a projected global population of 9 billion. In order to find a solution for a future model of sustainable agriculture, Sergio Gamberini created Nemo's Garden, the first underwater greenhouses in the world. This innovative experiment aims to find a new sustainable agricultural system for the future, which can counteract the increasingly pressures brought by climate change.
