This was the last hurrah for East Stirlingshire’s Firs Park ground in 2008, which had been The Shire’s home since 1921. They took on Montrose in the last league game to be played at the ground and it ended in a 3–1 victory for the Shire and meant that the club avoided finishing bottom of the Scottish Football League for a sixth consecutive season. Firs Park, meanwhile, was demolished in January 2012
