In addition to the mark that indicated that the book was banned, a warning was sometimes written on the covers of forbidden books. The inscription on the inside edge of the light parchment cover “Careful with this heretical book” not only informs but also warns. The surviving marks of ownership testify that the lost book belonged to two libraries: the seminary in Samogitia, and later the Priests’ Seminary of Kaunas Metropolis
