A scene from the fishing town Svolvær. Three men stand on the docks in winter, surrounded by wooden buildings. Behind them the sea and an anchored boat, and on the other side more wooden buildings and a docked boat. The mountains on Lillemolla Island in the distance. Savio was not recognized in his own time, only after his death in 1938, at the age of 36 years. He was one of the first Sami artists to be widely recognized and the first Sami artist to get his own exhibition at the national gallery of Norway. He also has a museum dedicated to him in Kirkenes, and a price; "Savioprisen" that is given by Nordnorsk Kunstmuseum every second year to an artist with Sami background.
