A lot has been said and written about the art of writing the short story. Many authors started out this way, while others return to the genre and have made it their spacialty. The short story has gained prominence in the canon of African Literature, attested to by thegrowth in the number of literary prizes now available. In this panel, Toni Kan questioned Chika Unigwe, Jennifer Makumbi and Billy Kahora on writting short fiction, and the prospects for publishing.
