In 1953, Lithuanians in the USA published a satirical publication The Owl Calendar with Supplements. It was a monthly Lithuanian-American humor and satire magazine, was published in Chicago in 1951-1954. It covered international relations, wars, economic and political realities in a witty and sarcastic manner. However, the main focus was on the everyday life of the DPs who tried to settle in America. Literary and artistic issues were not left behind either. The publication also published cartoons and anecdotes. One of the cartoons revealed the social metamorphosis of the DPs: from a Big Cheese to a Working Little Mouse.One of the cartoons shows the social metamorphosis of a refugee: from Big Cheese to Working Little Mouse.
