"The Mexican" by Jack London – Intermedia – 3 sketches of the clowns' costumes

Working on "The Mexican" as a costume designer, Eisenstein depicted the play’s adversaries, competing boxing managers, as highly stylized Cubist geometrical figures, spheres, triangles, and squares. The sketches with their grotesquely bright colors revived the tradition of Russian woodcuts.
