Significance

The Moscow Canal is outstanding hydraulic water management system. It was constructed in the first half of 20 century. Its entire canalbed is artificial. The system of canal-lokcs and pumping stations let vessels passing through the canal overcome the height difference of 38 m.
The width of the main canal-bed on the surface - 85 m, on the floor - 45 m, depth - 5.5 m.
