  • Artist info: The artist was the eldest son of Pieter Brueghel the Elder. Being one of the Master´s two sons Pieter Breughel the Younger had no problem being accepted into the Guild of St. Luke in Antwerp. This legacy overshadowed the fact that Pieter theYounger was only five years old when his father died and the fact that the renowned landscape artist Gillis van Coninxloo taught him how to paint. Pieter the Younger had a successful career in Antwerp, supervising a large studio which made replicas and variants of compositions by his father.
