The People's Triple Demand Action (1966)

The Indonesian Communist Party’ attempt to coup d’état had weakened the govemment. In addition, the whole country was plunging deeper into a political and economic turmoil. The University students, who were affiliated
with the Indonesian Student Union issued the Three Demands of the People (Tri Tuntutan Rakyat/ TRlTURA). The demands were:
1. Disband the Indonesian Communist Party
2. Purge the Cabinet from elements that relate to the September 30 Movement/Indonesian Communist Party
3. Reduce the cost of living
