Braşov, Romania

Zoe Popp was Mișu Popp’s sister-in-law. The portrait suggests an authoritarian attitude of control over her own life and even over her family. The historical jewelry, consisting of a brooch mounted on the lace collar and two earrings, is made of gold in which small pearls are embedded. These form floral motifs with decorative elements mounted in pendants.
