This scene is part of a series of thirteen copper paintings depicting the Life of the Virgin, acquired by Canon Andrés de Gondar and later incorporated into the holdings of the Cathedral Chapter. The representation of the Presentation of the Virgin reveals the influence of Flemish models, particularly drawing inspiration from compositions by P. P. Rubens.
