The workers' barracks of the Lost City of the Pyramids consisted of four sets of multiple long and narrow galleries arranged side by side, each able to house 40 workers. The image shows the back rooms, which may have been open-air courtyards. Excavations in these areas have revealed hearths and evidence of fire in the form of ashes, indicating that this may have been where food was prepared and cooked.
